Four Story Design was founded by Mark McKinney in 2002, who began by creating websites for friends and family on the side while working full-time as web administrator for Safavieh Rugs in Secaucus. These early sites provided valuable experience but also found satisfied clients who then gave referrals to their friends and associates, driving more business to Four Story Design. With new projects coming in at a steady rate, Mark made Four Story Design a full-time endeavor in the summer of 2004. Word-of-mouth referrals continue to feed new business, to the point where Four Story Design now oversees approximately 50 websites and a handful of graphic design clients. Four Story Design continues to grow and now works with a team of developers, programmers, designers and writers in order to serve our clientele in the best possible way.
Mark McKinney, Owner, Director
Mark spent ten years in the New York art business, working for a gallery, trying to promote his own paintings, and later opened his own gallery, McKinney Arts, in the East Village. However, Mark reached a point where he decided he needed a change and went back to school to learn web design and computer programming. He believes that his art background brings a fresh sense of creativity to the web design process. Mark has always enjoyed having involvement in every phase of web development, from designing the look of the site to writing the programming code.
